In the past, the City sent out notices to neighbors. It's now our responsibility as the Neighborhood Association to let neighbors know about this. Our Board will be voting on this after gathering input from the neighbors. Please share your input with any of us on the Board and/or directly to the City at the link above.
Here's the map with the location:

Here's the information from the first page of the application

And here's a photo of the information from page 2 of the application

The full application is available online to review and to make comments:

From what I’ve been able to learn from online research, to remove an established tree in LO there is a burden on the owner to show/prove:
• A professional arborist report (objective expert opinion)
• Evidence of damage or hazard to property or people
• Proof that no reasonable alternative (like pruning) exists
There may be other requirements or restrictions because the tree is in Odd Fellows, a historical building.
As your neighborhood association, we want to ensure that we represent all voices on/about this decision and are proactive in sharing this information with you to respond as an individual to the City and/or through your neighborhood board.
We are planning to reach out to the people living in Odd Fellows and the people across the street whose view is of the tree and to the renters in the units next to Odd Fellows on Durham. And to other neighbors in Old Town who may also walk by or have a viewpoint on this tree removal. And we will be posting this on Nextdoor for Old Town residents.
With input from the neighbors to ensure we are representing the neighborhood, we will then vote as your OTNA Board. We'll need to hold our vote before the April 27th deadline for comments. Stay tuned!
