Construction on Leonard Street

You might have noticed street markings and construction equipment on Leonard Street. Northwest Natural Gas has started a large piping project and talking to crews, it should take several weeks as they will be working on the entire length of Leonard Street, starting at the corner of Leonard and Furnace. Old cast iron and bare steel pipes are being replaced with modern coated steel and polyethylene to improve pipeline reliability and reduce corrosion.

So, take caution and know steel grates and no parking zones will be in place for some time as work will occur between 8 and 5 on weekdays.
