Old Town is home to one of the state's most famous trees, the Peg Tree, on Leonard Street (see our website's home page for more information). But there are several other trees in the neighborhood part of Lake Oswego's Heritage Tree program. Two of them, Deodar Cedars, are list week's "Tree of the Week." You can find the trees, along with a sign about the benefits of trees, on the southwest corner of Church and Furnace.
Read more about trees of the week, and the Deodar Cedars, at the LO Park & Recreation Arbor Month website. There should be videos added to the site in April.
If you're curious about the Heritage Tree program including how-to nominate your trees, you can find more information including a downloadable map of all the trees, at the Heritage Tree website.
