A New Sweet Treat in Lake Oswego: Welcome, Nectar Frozen Yogurt!

Looking for another excuse to get out for a walk? We have a new destination!

Michael and I recently walked over to Nectar Frozen Yogurt Lounge, which recently opened in the shopping center off State Street across the parking lot from Petco. We were excited to give it a try on this hot Friday afternoon.

One of the fun things about Nectar is that you get to create your own frozen yogurt masterpiece. Start by choosing from several frozen yogurt flavors, including dairy-free and sugar-free options, then head over to the topping bar. There are dozens of choices, from fresh fruit and nuts to candy, cookies, sprinkles, and sauces. Or, if you're a purist, simply enjoy a cup of your favorite frozen yogurt without any toppings.

Since you pay by the ounce, you can keep it healthy... or go all out with every topping that catches your eye!

We met Anna, who was working during our visit, and learned that this is the third Nectar location in the Portland area. Naturally, we had to ask the important question: "Do you have pup cups?" The answer was yes! For $1, you can treat your four-legged friend to a pup cup. Walter will definitely be joining us on our next visit.

Our two generously topped frozen yogurts came to about $10, and they were delicious.

One fun surprise: we tried to guess which frozen yogurt flavors are the most popular—and we guessed wrong! You'll have to stop by and see if you can do better.

Tart frozen yogurt is a tangy soft-serve dessert defined by its sour bite and light sweetness. It differs from traditional sweet vanilla frozen yogurt (froyo) by emphasizing live cultures and citrus notes. Generally low in fat and packed with live and active probiotics. Might want to give it a try.
